Nepal Time Now

Nepal is a South-Asian country lying between China and India. Nepal has only one time zone NST( Nepal Standard Time ). Nepal's standard time has a difference of  5 hours and 45 minutes. i.e (+5:45 UTC/GMT).

Newzeland, Nepal and Chatham Islands are the only three countries having a 45 minutes time offset with UTC. NST(Nepal Standard Time) is often searched as Khatmandu time as Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. NST is used all over Nepal as the standard time of the country. Nepal doesn't adopt DST( Daylight Saving Time ) as an energy adjusting strategy.

Nepal/Kathmandu time (UTC/GMT+05:45):

Country: Nepal
Time zone abbreviation: NST
Time zone name: Nepal Standard Time
Time offset: UTC/GMT+05:45
Observe DST: No

Why is Nepal 45 minutes off?

Nepal is 5 hours and 45 minutes in front of GMT, since it sets the meridian of Nepal Standard Time at Gaurishankar, a mountain east of Kathmandu. The odd time contrast among Nepal and India has brought about a public joke that Nepalis are generally 15 minutes late (or, Indians are 15 minutes early).07-Aug-2015
