DST is an abbreviation of Daylight saving time(named DST in Australia, the US and Canada). while its name in European Union and the UK is ST( Summertime). An American Polymath Benjamin Franklin 1784 gave the idea to forward time clocks by an hour in the summer and spring season for an early wake up of people in order to save candles burnt at nights.
This idea is still in use in some countries and regions of the world including some regions of US, UK, Eurpeon Union. But majority of the world including Asia, Africa, Countries near to eqautor and many other under developed countries and regions of the world.
Usually, the clocks are forwarded by an hour in the Spring season which is often referred to as " Spring forward " and Clocks go back by an hour to resume at a standard time in the Autumn season which is termed as "fall back".

DST is used in Australian Capital, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.

End: First Sunday of April - clocks are moved back from 03:00 AM to 02:00 AM.

In the UK the clocks go forward 1 hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back 1 hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October.
